So then a Board Game is is defined as a game that  is played upon a pre determined board, and with markers and tokens, and usually presents a simulation of a real life event.

Imagination, and make-believe are  key elements of play, in the those games that model a real life scenario.

Other board games are more strategy oriented, as you most likely know, chess, checkers, scrabble, and triva games are based upon strategies more than fantasies, and seek to involve the player's logic more than their imagination.

My Game, "G-Ride" is of the first type of game, and will involve the mind in role play, but also perhaps a bit of strategy as well.

First I am going to explore what has been done before.....but please bear with me..... and try not to become "Board".

Monopoly
This Game has been played by a lot of people since it came out in 1935.  The original patent was owned by Parker Brothers.  The exact number of plays is argued, but there claims by Hasbro, the curent patent owner, that the game has been played between 750 and 500 million times!!  How many times have you played monopoly?  Even still that is quite a large number to comprehend, even worldwide!!

In the beginning spaces of life you choose a career path, or a college path......and based upon the spin of the wheel.........bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz................and if you have ever played the game then you know just what sound I am talking about.  Not too much more than the wheel to determine you fate in this game, but then "that's life".  As you drive your little plastic car around the board, and acquire children in the form of little blue and pink plastic pegs.  There are many different scenarios all spelled out on the windy board road.....and life scenarios related to work and family are the focus, for example you can even play the stock market.  The goal is to earn the most amount of money, of course......but then that sounds like the way most people seem to view life.
To be continued.................
